About Me

How does a Lighting Designer see the world? This question which was posed to me at a festival years ago has never left me. The answer that I  gave still remains true, but left me thinking. How is the world seen? As designers and artists we reveal a portion of who we are and how we see the world. Part of the challenge is to interpret the views of the other collaborators to a create one unified window into a world of our making for the audience.
This is what intrigues me. Theatre has always been enjoyable, but as I have learned more about design I have made discoveries about myself. I consider myself  a designer, artist, and even a sculptor carving out a space with light to reveal the beautiful and intricate moments of a piece. This is what I love about theatre; this is what makes me an artist.
